The Cambridge Dictionary Online – need to know what ostentatious means? Look it up on this comprehensive dictionary site.
Writing Tips – This site is full of helpful tips and concepts that will improve your writing.
Spark Notes English – We’ve all been there, with a test on a novel the next day, and you’ve either not read the book, or you’ve not understood it. Spark Notes has you covered with complete analysis of each chapter, the plot, and the major themes. It can’t hurt to check it out.
MATH
Ask Dr. Math – This web site has everything from formulas to derivatives.
Mathematics Resources – With links to many, many math-devoted sites, this page is immensely helpful if you’re stuck.
Interactive Multiplication Table – here’s a helpful tool if you’re without a calculator and need to do some multiplication.
Math Study Guides – Spark Notes to the rescue once again! Although this is a primarily American site, you can find some helpful things to study. (Most of this is for upper-year highschool)

MadSci – thousands of answers to thousands of science questions!
Scientific American – From one of the most respected scientific magazines comes answers to your science questions.
The Mad Scientist Network – A team of mad scientists from Washington University Med School will answer your questions on 25 areas of science.
Spark Notes Science – This page gives you links to summaries of various principals involved in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Astronomy, and Computer Sciences.
Periodic Table of the Elements – This periodic table has both the shortforms and the full names of every element, along with atomic mass.

HISTORY
Canada: A People’s History – This is the website for the CBC’s series on Canada’s history from beginning to present. If you know what time period you are looking for, then this site is great. Clicking on “Explore the Episodes” will give you a list of the episodes and the time periods involved.
Veterans Affairs Canada – Lots of info on wars that Canada has been involved in. This could help a lot with grade 10 History.
Histor eSearch – This is a great resource for Non-Canadian history. There are tons of links to sites dealing with ancient history, medieval history, Asia’s history, and much more.
FRENCH
