Check out the great art submitted to the 2011 Liam Garrett Memorial Teen Art Show… stop in to the Picton branch to view it in person and vote for your favourite for the “People’s Choice”.
(Some of these photos have been cropped or edited, and ALL the art is EVEN MORE impressive in person!)
We’re hosting our annual Teen Summer Art show at the library. All teens (13-19) are invited to submit artwork to any branch of the County of Prince Edward Public Library for display in the Teen Room at the Picton Branch.
This year, the show is being judged by talented local illustrator Niall Eccles.
We’ll accept art in any media – collage, photography, painting, sculpture, whatever you’re into we’ll display it as long as it’s suitable for display in a public building. For more information, stop by the library, e-mail teenroom@peclibrary.org or facebook “teen room”.
The first-ever opening night celebration of the Liam Garrett Memorial Art Show was a success! Members of the Prince Edward County Arts Council, parents, and interested community members came to the Library to view the art, and meet the teen artists.
Stop in to the Picton Branch of the Library to vote for the People’s Choice Award Winner and view the variety of impressive art on display!
Looking for something to do this summer? The Library’s got a bunch of stuff happening for teens!
1. ART SHOW
You know by now that the library displays teen art. Did you know you can have your work displayed? Bring in acrylic art, pastel, collage, digital work, or sculpture. Any medium is accepted – we’ll display it all! Stop in for more details or just bring in your artwork & have the opportunity for your work to be judged by artist Bay Woodyard.
2. Book Reviews!
Write a book review about ANY book you read (or any book you HAVE read) and get volunteer credit. We’re also offering (in Picton Branch only) the opportunity to record yourself talking about a book and get volunteer hours!
3. Fun events including papermaking, body art, and special effects makeup! Pick up the calendar or check peclibrary.org for specific details. More info will be on the blog and our facebook page, so stop by! (facebook: Teen Room)
Hey, want to have YOUR say about the 2006 art show? For the first year ever, we’ll be allowing YOU, the viewer, to vote on your favourite artist in the 2006 art show. (cool eh?)
